“Hello everyone ! My name is Tristan Ledard and I’m a french watchmaker. I have always been attracted to the manual and meticulous work involved in watchmaking. So I directed my studies towards this fascinating field. I followed the Brevet des Métiers d’Art course from the Paris watchmaking school. This allowed me to do internships with few great watchmakers. I also had the opportunity to work on an astronomical clock. These experiences developed my taste for clockmaking as well as the idea of creating my first piece : Astro, the first clock with a linear equation of time.
In 2016, I presented Astro at Baselworld during the “Young Talent” competition organized by the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI). I had the honor of winning the competition and receiving the prize from François-Paul Journe.
I took advantage of this great momentum to create my own company, TL-Watchmaking. Its initial goal was to market Astro as well as entirely handmade watches. Also, I worked on manufacturing my own watch Model01. It’s totally inspired from the Astro’s dial. I’m also working on making a movement dedicated to Model01. I do care about handmade work.
The activities have since diversified. Few brands call me out to work on designing, overhaul, and after sales service. Also customers entrust their watches for overhaul or sometimes take them back to life.
I would be delighted to see you taking part in the TL-Watchmaking adventure and getting in touch with you.”
Just an hour away from Paris, his workshop has a machines room, a watchmaker bench, and a cleaning watches room.
